Side by Side Arts is dedicated to empowering young musicians by connecting them with practice buddies in monthly cycles. Through this, we aim to provide a platform for musical growth, collaboration, and mentorship. Our goal is to foster a supportive community that encourages creativity and passion for music.
Our Purpose
At Side by Side Arts, our purpose is to create a welcoming environment for high school musicians to expand their musical abilities and form meaningful connections with their peers. We strive to cultivate a friendly community for musicians from all over the world to learn from each other.

Our Story
Side by Side Arts was founded by two high schoolers, Shuman and Sydney, who met at BUTI Young Artists Orchestra during the summer of 2025. Our goal with creating this organization was to build a community for high school musicians to support each other's practicing and exchange informal advice in a fun, collaborative environment. We were inspired by our own experiences of isolation in practicing and the difficulty of gaining motivation to practice. We invite you to join our community and help bring change by registering for a partner, becoming a chapter leader, or even just by checking out our social media!
We were founded in 2026 by Shuman and Sydney! We're looking forward to continuing our journey and spreading our mission this year and beyond.
